I am a lover of reading and have created this space to connect with other readers. Recently I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with my degree in microbiology and have since found my time is now able to be spent reading, again! I was an avid reader most of my life but found it very difficult to balance the rigors of school, some kind of social life, work(ing 2 jobs), and reading. I believe that is natural. There is a natural ebb and flow of passions and you must allow yourself grace in these moments. Now, I am back on the metaphorical horse and hope to read at least 3 books a month for the remainder of the year. My New Years goal might come with a new standard, but that is yet to be decided.
Some of my other hobbies, because you totally asked, include painting, sewing, knitting, quilting, and being outside whenever possible. I love being outside in nature and if ever given the opportunity to do any of the aforementioned hobbies while outside, I will absolutely seize such an opportunity.
An important note, I have had a lot of pets in my life and that changes how I view literary situations. I have had (in no particular order): Baby White Australian Tree Frogs (2), Leopard Geckos (2), Robo Dwarf Hamsters (2?), Chinese Dwarf Hamsters (3), Red Ear Slider Turtles (6), Goldfish (3?), Golden Retriever (1), Pomeranian (1), Mini Pomeranian (1), Chihuahua (1), Chihuahua Mixed Puppies (3), Guinea Pigs (3). I watched as my guinea pig gave birth to two babies, and as my chihuahua gave birth to three beautiful puppies. We were blessed to keep all of the babies from both (separate) births. For those of you interested in fun facts, my favorite way to play "Two Truths and a Lie" is to say that I have seen a dog give birth, I have seen a cat give birth, and I have seen a guinea pig give birth. You now know the lie.
I am blessed with the support from my Dr. Mom who taught me the value of a book. Also, my father has fostered a love of curiosity about the world and I am forever thankful. I also have a younger sister whom I cherish greatly for all of our fantastic nicknames. I would not be who I am today without their support and love. Also, to the man who pushed me to create this blog in the first place and to always improve upon myself, thank you Alex.
This seems like a good place to begin our relationship.
Happy Reading, Bookworms!
Sarah
